second reflection

My second practice was kind of difficult for me because i started the class by doing an activity called "Guess who am i" in which i had some difficulties , but the problem was not the activity, but how much they knew about it;students had to know lot about music and that was the problem with this activity because they didn't know much about music, so i had to improve the activity  and finished as soon as i could. 
                                                               

The next activity i had them working on their books and i monitored and answered their doubts about new words. I continue doing the next activity in which i pasted some adjectives on the board and they had to make two lines facing the board and then provide the definitions for each word; they did a great job after all they worked on their books in some activities.

 This experience was meaningful for me because we never know how the class will be Although we already planned our class. There can always be some sorprises in which we as future teachers must have second plans in order to be ready if something wrong happens.

Semester ll Hot Reflection 1

Today i had my first teaching practice i was nervous for i had new students and i had to teach in Advanced English it was the first time for me to have an andvanced group. I arrived very early in order to write the objective and agenda; i provided them some pieces of papers so that they could write their names.

After that,  I started the class by doing a warm up activity called "pass the two balloons" in which i played some music and the student who got the balloon had to  answered  some questions  about the previous topic. Students participated in a good way. 



Later on,  I continue with the grammar presentation and the grammar point which was the difficult part for me " grammar explanation"  i felt kind of nervous because was the first time for me to explain grammar in an dvanced English group, but everything was fine ; they already knew about the topic,so it was easy for me to give them explanations about it. I had them working on their books while i was monitoring what they were doing. At the end of the class i made a pair activity in which students had to create a mini conversation and for that  i provided some feedback.

Finally, I felt comfortable because they have knowledge about lot of things, so they follow your instructions in a very good way and they participated a lot ,so that makes the class easier in some way.

Hot reflection

This teaching practice was done the Wednesday 19^th. I started with a warm up called “Ninja Hands.” I like this activity because people, especially young people, enjoy it a lot and require students’ concentration. On the other hand, it is useful to elicit students speaking skills. Then, I developed a reading activity related to the topic they were going to study, which was about the quantifiers many, a lot of and few. This reading helped students understand the topic better since it contained the examples in contexts.

After that, I proceed to give the grammar explanation. To be sincere I had some problems because the topic is quite complex. Even so, the students could understand my explanation. I tried to give clear explanations. This was showed in the practice. Students did really well, with minus problems with some students.

Second Period... second entry.

Hi guys, today I had the opportunity to teach my second class at English Access and I started at 3: 00 pm, but this time I felt more comfortable because I asked the teacher if I could create my own lesson plan which she told me if was ok, so I was surer about my class. 

I started the class with a warm up activity called: “Draw it all’’, this time students had a lot fun by drawing and trying to guess some verbs; they enjoyed the activity a lot. After that, I asked them to make groups of three and one of them should be the representative in which they had to choose a famous person whatever they wanted and then the others asked them some questions using simple present; they developed the activity in a nice way.

Then, I gave them some topics in which they had to choose whatever they liked the most and create some conversations about the topic. What I realized is that they like speaking activities, so I tried to include speaking activities in order to make them practice.

I had a great time teaching because the students are very nice. This time I really feel comfortable about my class and I really enjoyed how the students developed in a nice way what you asked them to do.

Second Period... First entry

Today was my first class in English Access, and I felt Little nervous.The class started with the activity called “Bus stop”,  Some students develop the activity in a good way some others don’t. After that, I started my class asking them some questions about the previous class which it was good because they remembered many things about the last class.

 Then, I had students working in pairs where they need to fill in the blanks using simple present. After that, students have to create a conversation in trios in which they have to perform the activity for two minutes, and students developed the activity in a very good way.

I like this group because they really like to participate, they asked a lot of questions about things they don’t know which I think is very nice because I noticed they want to learn English.

 By the other hand, it was a big challenge for me to teach in English Access because I had to teach with the lesson plan the teachers have created which was a little uncomfortable for me, but at the end I think I did it well. There is something incredible about those kids; they caught the information in a very good way and that motived me a lot because now I know that I can develope a lot of creative activities with them and for sure they are going to participate. 

My last practice

My last teaching practice was on February 23^rd. This time I felt more comfortable for was my last practice with them and I knew them a little bit more, so I started the class with a warm up activity called “Draw it all”. Students participated in all the activities in a very nice way, but there is a big problem with them. As they are in a very basic level, they speak Spanish all the time; they do not practice English, so is kind of difficult trying to make them speak English.

In the middle of the class some students were not paying attention, so I tried to get their attention by standing in front of them and it was a nice technique because they realized what was the problem, so it was no necessary to ask them to be quiet. 

This experience was very nice for me because I was getting accustom to my group, but unfortunately, I had to say good bye to my group which was kind of sad for me, and I hope my coming experiences could be nice as this one.
